All roads do NOT lead to God

All roads do NOT lead to God. There is one way, one truth, and one life…Jesus Christ.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He (Jesus) was with God in the beginning. Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made. In Him was life, and that life was the light of me. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.” (John 1:1-5)

The Word (the Bible) is Jesus and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). Jesus is our salvation and therefore the Word is our salvation. If you believe one part of the Bible, you have to believe all of it…even the parts you don’t like!

Romans 1:24-27 says, “Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator – who is forever praised. Amen. Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.”

This is such a touchy subject, I know. I want to start by stating I believe the Bible when it says this is a perversion and a sin. But please hear this next part, which is SO IMPORTANT…

“Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, He gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed, and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Although they know god’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.” (Romans 1:28-32)

God makes it clear in Romans 3:23. “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” I am personally guilty of greed, envy, strife, deceit, gossip, slander, boasting, disobedience, and the list could go on.

Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Some are born homosexual, some are born angry, some are born prone to addiction…that’s not the argument here, whether or not someone’s nature is legitimate or not. Psalm 51:5 says, “Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.” Ephesians 2:3-5 says, “All of us also lived among them in sin at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath. But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions – it is by grace you have been saved.”

Where the problem lies is for those of us who not only refuse to acknowledge our sin, but excuse our sin as righteous. Hebrews 10:26 says, “If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.” Would you tell an addict it was ok for them to continue using drugs because they were born that way? If they were born that way it must be of God?

Jeremiah 17:9 says, “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?”

Ephesians 5:6 says, “Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient.”

You can be deceived by your own heart!!!! Don’t be deceived!!!

I post this not because I want to condemn anyone, which is not my place as I am not God. But God’s Word says, “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9) “For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign Lord. Repent and live!” (Ezekiel 18:32) “In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.” (Acts 17:30)

Matthew 16:24- says, “Then Jesus said to His disciples, ‘if anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it.'”

The argument is not whether some are saved or not, whether some are afforded salvation because of their type of sin. The argument is that all sinners have the same access to heaven. Will you deny yourself, repent, and choose salvation or will you deliberately hold onto your sin and forfeit it? We cannot manipulate grace and choose to keep on sinning deceiving ourselves that God’s grace covers your deliberate disobedience. It is God’s job to convict us, but it is our job to invite Him in and allow Him access to change our hearts. He will not impose Himself on you. The choice is yours.
